FAISALABAD:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

A teacher at a girls\u2019 school has allegedly beaten a student and fractured her arm.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Naseer Ahmad, a spokesman for the Chiniot education EDO\u2019s office, said the EDO had taken notice of the incident and ordered an inquiry.<\/p>\n

\u201cA committee has been constituted to probe the matter. It will be supervised by deputy district officer (DDO) and if the teacher is found guilty in the light of the inquiry report, action will be taken against her,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Shamim Bibi, mother of the student, told\u00a0The Express Tribune<\/em>\u00a0that her daughter, Nasira Parveen, was a third grade student at Government Primary School.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe got sick last week and could not go to school for five days. On Saturday, when she felt better, I sent her to school.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said her daughter had said she didn\u2019t want to go back because her teacher was very strict and would punish her for being absent from school.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause Nasira was scared, I took her to school and explained to the teacher that the child had missed classes because she was ill,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Shamim said the teacher told her to leave and took the girl in the classroom and locked the door.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was standing outside the class when I heard my daughter screaming,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said she knocked on the door to be let in but the teacher did not open the door. \u201cI was helpless because I could hear my child being beaten and I could do nothing,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe beat my daughter and threw her on the floor several arms, fracturing her arm,\u201d Shamim said. She said the teacher then left the class and left the school.<\/p>\n

\u201cI complained to the school headmistress but nobody listened to me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

She said action should be taken against the teacher and the school headmistress.<\/p>\n

When contacted, Chiniot station house officer (SHO) said the police had not received a complaint.<\/em><\/p>\n
